Introduction : The development of renal dysfunction before and after liver transplantation is a complicated, mulifactered, and critical issue that affect recovery after liver transplantation. The aim of this study is to review the courses of LT recipients who needed dialysis pre and post LT at our center.

Methods : We reviewed the medical records of 21 LT recipient from May 2015 to September 2017 at our center. We compared their clinical demographic, morbidity, and motality between dialysis pre and post LT patients and those not needed.

Results : We have performed 21 liver transplants from May 2015 to August 2017. Among them, 8 patients had peri-transplant dialysis and 13 patients did not. Patients who underwent dialysis had more frequent acute renal injury pretransplantly, a higher preoperative MELD (41.5 vs 12, p

Conclusions : In most cases, kidney function is recovering within a few weeks of transplantation. However, long-term follow-up is required for more patients for more concrete conclusions.
